Beauty Rat Snake (Orthriophis taeniurus)
I was at my work today and I noticed that there was one up for adoption for a small fee, and fell in love with its color.
I really want to buy it but I would prefer getting information regarding humidity and temperature, aswell as how to hibernate them (I'm being told i need to do this).
These snakes look like living jewelry and getting this would help me get people used to snakes because they are way smaller then the other snakes we own, and they look so amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous snakes! I know that one of the members on here has one, so hopefully they will chime in...

I've never owned a colubrid myself, but according to Brian Barcyzk (Owner of BHB Enterprises and creator of SnakeBytesTV), none of them ever need to be hibernated. He does hibernate them, as it makes breeding them worlds easier (They basically come out of hibernation in the mood and ready to mate), but they can live their entire long, happy lives without ever being cooled down.

Hey I have a Taiwanese Beaut. Vigorous eater, One of my favorite snakes he is always out exploring/hunting. I have never heard of hibernating a Taiwanese. Temperatures stay 85 basking a bit higher try not to go over 90. At night they drop to low 80s. Humidity I keep a lg dish full of water and mist daily

Re: Beauty Rat Snake (Orthriophis taeniurus)
There was a nice article on Beauty Snakes last month or the month before in Reptiles magazine. I have a Blue Beauty and I don't brumate, I'm not breeding either though. The thing is always hunting and always hungry, (s)he has never not eaten for me.

I'm planning to brumate it because breeding will probably be something I'll be looking into.
