New Member 1st Post

We just returned from an expo and ended up more than doubling the size of our snake family! We already have the ubiquitous red tail boa (~6 feet) and ball python (~30 inches). Have had both of these for over 2 years now and both are doing fantastic. We picked up a Brazilian Rainbow Boa and an Argentine Boa. These are for my two daughters. My middle aged son, ever the contrariian, bought a New River Rust Rump Tarantua! My youngest boy did not go with us so his turn will have to come another day.

I finally broke down and purchased a Green Tree Boa and vivarium set-up for my wife and myself. We have been wanting one for years now and finally took the plunge. Too bad it won't keep that bright yellow color! I saw some pic's of it's parents and they have a fair amount of yellow still in them as adults so I hope ours will as well.

Anyway, I hope to learn lots of info from the forum in the future and will hopefully contribute as well. Cheers!

Almost forgot. My youngest daughter also has an Argentine Tegu of about 30 inches length. Cheers

Re: New Member 1st Post

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Now a question. What does the numbers in peoples signatures mean? Such as 0.1.0 or 1.0.0. I tried figuring it out and just can't make sense of it! Also where can I read up on the different type of genetic phases such as melanistic or hypo and such? Oops! I guess that was 2 questions...

Hey! Welcome to the forum!!
I think the numbers are gender (somebody please correct me if i'm wrong) male:female:unsexed I THINK but i'm not 100% sure
Try searching those words on the forum, a bunch of threads will probably show up

the # is the sex of the animal, 1.0.1 means 1 male, 0 females and 1 unsexed.

That's a really broad question, are you asking about all snakes and their morphs or just 1 or 2 species and their specific morphs?

Re: New Member 1st Post

New England Reptile Distributors, designer Ball Pythons, Reticulated Pythons, and much more! this is how it works, as for all the types of snake, best bets to look at pics and resurch what you like best, their is just way to many to break down for you.
