Question Help! Stinky poop that was quick

I have had my ball python only a few months. Usually it takes two or three weeks for him to poop and it's small lump.

I fed Kinko on March 12th. He eats stunned medium rats. I didn't hold him again until March 17th. Today his cage smelled extremely bad and there were brown tubular poos and there were four of them. This is only six days after he ate.

Is this normal? Should I be concerned? How long should I wait until I feed him again?

I'm really worried about my little boy. I don't know how old he is (my science teacher gave him to me) but he's about three and half feet long.

Did it look like "normal" poo? If so then there should be no worries. I ahve found with allmy snakes that they poo rather randomly - some will poo just after eating, some wait and poo after shedding and some just wait for a fresh water bowl!!

Some poos do smell a hell of a lot worse than others too.

Is "pooing" normal? Ummm, yeah....
BTW, if your animal is only pooing every couple of weeks, it's likely not eating enough. Notice I didn't say large enough food items, I said enough.
Good luck.

i would be more worried about him going to the toilet every few weeks i would say he is getting to where he should be. six days sounds about right to me.

I'm confused. My teacher said to only feed him every three weeks... how much does he need?

I feed my BP every 14 days, might be worth bumping yours up a little.

Yup Id say if he is on medium rats, then I feed every 14 days. Brown tubular poos sound completely normal

Decrease the size of the food items to something more easily digestible and feed once every 10-14 days. If your ball is a female, once every 7 days is acceptable.
Smaller sized meals though.

Re: Help! Stinky poop that was quick

I have an agreement with my BP, when she starts roaming around her cage and nudging the screen shes hungry. Sometimes once a week, sometimes she goes a week or two.
I found out just how finicky a BP can be when it comes to feeding. When I first got her she ate like clockwork, then decided on feeding day she didnt feel like it. Kept an eye on her and figured out her little pattern.
But it seems to work just fine for her. No weight loss, no saggy skin, poo is usually a few days afterward.
