Temp co-habiting two young female Royals ..
I was just wondering if it would be ok to keep two young female Royals ( 15" ) together for a short while ( months) ???
I know that Corn Snake owners are pretty much against the idea of co habiting Corn hatchlings but I was wondering if it was more acceptable for two same sex Royals ??

The general consensus is to not house two sankes together unless for breeding, there are a few exceptions like garters.
They need to be separated for feeding, if one gets sick the other probably will, you wont kmow which one has done that funny poo or regurged that mouse etc etc.

i would say that yes they could be together for a short while, not going against what your stating lankyrob- just think they keep them at pet stores together till they sell and they seem fine not a permanant thing just till he can house them separately but if they stop eating and are acting stressed i would then separate them.

personally i wouldnt even keep garter snakes together but thats just me.
its so easy and inexpensive to separately house snakes that i would have to say that i wouldnt house your pair of royals together.

Well they are both super healthy and good eaters , I am just concerned about the rare possibility of cannibalism . nothing else.

It's really better for the snakes if they are kept separately- in the wild, snakes are not social creatures. They hatch from their eggs, shed out and go off to find their first meal. They do not gain any comfort or happiness from being together. They might be very healthy now, but keeping them together could cause stress from both snakes trying to find the very best cage spots and constantly crowding each other. They can also pass diseases and parasites back and forth if kept together. IMO, do yourself and your snakes a favor and give them each a separate house.

its never a good idea to house any type of snakes together. How are you going to keep track of there health or feed them properly

i wouldn't. just to reiterate, bp's are quite easy to stress and having a housemate may not be the best idea. Also as Julian said, its far to cheap and easy to house them in separate enclosures which is in most cases (if not all) the best for them IMO
