Recently I came across a beautiful albino snake,his name is banana puddin((BP for short) because he wouldn't eat at first and let his live food(i started him with one $5 mouse just to be sure it wouldn't hurt him if it did attack) walk on top of him for about two weeks straight), that was in my ex girlfriends shed. She gave me very little information about him. Basically she told me that he only has one eye because he got attacked by a rabbit she tried to feed him and he is yellow with red eyes. I have been working on a respiratory problem he had and finally got it down to very light hacking and him accepting live food. His temperature is usually about 80 to 90 degrees but drops down to 75 to 85 degrees at night. I am having trouble classifying him and have been referring to him as a ball python. I can give a fairly decent description of him. I can also post pictures if needed (however, currently i only have pictures from today and still need to download them). He is albino with no patterns(solid yellow coloring), has smooth scales, round eye (pink hue), between 7'6" and 8', he has a typical body shape of a python, a broad head, and a split anal plate. If anyone could narrow down my field for me i would appreciate it.

Welcome to the forum....

Sounds like a retic or Burmese albino. Ball Pythons are only half or less the size of what you describe..

As for everything else you just said.. I'm at a loss.

How did you diagnose the RI?? did you see a vet?

NEVER under any circumstances leave a live rodent in the same cage with a snake of any kind without close supervision. Mice & rats can and will attack snakes regardless of size.

This picture tears my guts out every time I see it, I'm not passing judgement, I just want to make my point.. that's all.

Hello and welcome! Sound like you have a Albino Green Patternless Burmese Python. Pictures would really help. Wayne cover what can go wrong living live prey in with you snake. Any question you have just ask we'll do your best to help you.

wayne thats one gruesome picture mate i still can't get my head round a snake sitting letting a rodent gnaw on it till that state no matter how many times i see pictures of it

Could you get a better pic of the head? Maybe from the side with a little more light. I think i was right about it being a Albino Green Patternless, but not 100% sure. A more pics would help me know for sure.

when i first got him i went to get the small mouse i originally tried to feed him and told the guy at the pet store what was going on with him and he just told me to leave him under light and make sure he stays humid. so i tried that and it worked i never really was curious until i started reading the breeds and how many there are. i just went off of what others thought they knew being that everyone else that comes around are terrified of snakes and seeing him didnt help

also i just fed him today so i couldnt get any pictures of him stretched out so hopefully after he is done digesting he will stay still enough so you can get a better view of his length

Albino green Burmese python. That missing eye looks awful....poor fellow. I'm glad he's in good hands now, and best of luck helping him recover from the respiratory issues.

Thank you. He is definitely doing a lot better than when i met him.

as of now: no more cough, fed regularly, and in a big warm room. i can tell he appreciates it because as soon as i put him around my neck and sit down the first thing he does is slides down to my waist, wraps around, and rests his head on my stomach. he is the best pet i ever owned. i love not having to house train animals. also i think he is the most affectionate pet ive had to handle. i have actually played with him a few times. i will stick his head in my mouth, take it out and put him on the ground and he will follow me, wrap around my shoe and try to climb on me. i haven't seen anything like that before

Sorry, you put his head in your mouth???? You know that egg laying animals carry the risk of salmonella? I wont say anything about putting it round your neck i think that has been covered enough times on the forum already.
