Welcome to the forum! We'd love to see pics of your collection.
A hot keeper should be on at some point to lend you their advice.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I hope you find someone to learn under as its good to see first hand how to correctly hook and tail these guy's. They are a incredibly quick and take a little bit to get used to. I wish you all the best in finding someone to help you with getting the experience required. If you have any other questions about keeping hot's feel free to shoot me a PM or post it here. Also there are very very few of us hot's keepers on this forum.

imo percy's the man when it comes to hots i'd love to have him as a mentor if i ever trusted myself to keep hots (it would help if we did'nt live on opposite sides of the planet )
its refreshing to see someone actually looking for a mentor as so many newbies don't respect hots enough to think it warrants a mentor
so kudo's to you mate
welcome to the forum
cheers shaun

I would be more than happy to move over there if you ever do wanna get them Shaun. I would happily mentor you for the chance of dealing with some of the most beautiful venomous species the world has to offer. You would maybe have to buy me a gaboon and king cobra for my efforts though lol.
Great pics of a great collection mate, it will certainly be an eye opener for you to see the sheer speed of a hot though compared to the species you have in those pics.

Oh I know ! :-) I work with a friend of mine around here, but he's only one person. He has two monocle cobras and two eyelash vipers. The cobras are still babies so they are a handful. :-)

I would love to be able to work with cobra's i find their aggressive display awesome to watch. The ones that keep me on my toes the most which i own would have to be the mulga's/king browns. They are all still young but my biggest is now around 1.4m but is only 20 months old so the big guy has a lot of growing to go.

Welcome to the forums, and that's a gorgeous collection you've got.~ Especially love the Redtail Boa.~ Well, it looks like a redtail boa I'd fallen for in a pet store but couldn't get LOL.
I almost called the first pic another Redtail Boa but it actually looks like more of a Blood Python to me.. I don't know their scientific latin names.

Re: Intro =) Interested in hots
Nice looking collection you have there. Is that a Borneo Short-tail or a Blood?

Re: Intro =) Interested in hots
I would imagine pit's to be very similar to deali with as our death adders ( except for size ), who are very boring as they do not move much at all. Their strike speed how ever is very impressive and is literally as fast as a blink of the eye. Adders can be very hard to have settle on a hook as they are very stocky and short, which means they can quite easily fly off the hook at any moment. Also not being able to tail them makes them even that little bit more interesting to deal with.
