got a new BP
got a little BP to go along with nigma. today was interesting, i brought the little guy/girl home and set up his viv and put him in it and he seemed alittle stressed and puffy so i left him alone. then i look just a little while ago, prolly around 3:15am for me and both the nocturnal snakes are out and about in their cages. i went over to nigma's viv and opened the door because he was near it, and for the FIRST time ever since i've had him he smelled at me for a second then came out to me. it was the first time i've ever had to not physically reach in his viv and take him out to handle. i thought it was awesome. i snapped a few quick pics then put nigma back a few minutes ago and left them alone.
oh and i have yet to think of a name for the newcomer, i'll have to give it some thought.
/ and i need to get him some branches, lol.
/// and those books are just until i get a better lid O.o lol

Re: got a new BP
I used to do books on my corn snakes aquarium. Couldn't find a snapping lid to save my life. Beautiful snake

Re: got a new BP
You got the heat lamp in the middle? Better to move it to one end so that there is a temperature gradient.
Beautiful snake tho!

haha, funny thing is i moved it around to have it on the right side before i even read this i just had it that way because only 1 side of the lid actually fits into the slot, so i have to weigh the other side down until i get a new lid. i just flipped things around and have the books in different spots with the light on the right.

my friend had 2 ball pythons that he gave to his brother a few years ago, and the big one's name was thor. so i've decided to go with something else from norse gods, these are my maybe's.
■Magni – Son of Thor and the giantess Jarnsaxa. Will inherit Thor’s hammer Mjollnir with his brother Modi after Ragnarok.
■Modi – Son of Thor and the giantess Jarnsaxa. Will inherit Thor’s hammer Mjollnir with his brother Magni after Ragnarok.

■Skadi – Goddess of Winter and of the Hunt

FREYA is my wifes name
in norse folk lore she has a cloak of falcon feathers
and is associated with...
love,beauty,fertility,gold,war and death
she has a chariot pulled by 2 cats
half the men who die in battle go to freya the other half go to odin's hall valhalla

Sounds like your in the better half mate!
Nice looking Bp you got there. Don't worry what ever name you come up with for him will be perfect, and he won't come to it anyways.

Re: got a new BP
Congrats on the new little BP! She/he appears to be quite active and is very cute!
When you can, I'd try to cover half the lid with a damp towel or foil to help hold humidity in.

Possibly, BPs are well known for being finicky when it comes to eating.

Re: got a new BP
Nice little BP you've acquired. And, of course, I love seeing pics of Nigma
What about Vidar for a name? He's a half brother to Thor, second in strength only to Thor, survived Ragnarok, and avenged his father's death - seems pretty badass. And, I think it sounds kind of gender neutral, though if you do have it sexed and it's female you change it to Vidara.
