Re: Chomper my Sav !!
Nice looking little critter! Can you tell me a little about his husbandry? Cage requirements, temps, etc. etc.
Thanks

Re: Chomper my Sav !!
Nice setup, and of course a sweet sav!! i just started setting my cage up yesterday, i still need some rocks for basking on and some wood for a higher temp basking spot and somthing to climb on. husbandy is lots of handling to get and keep them real tame, cage for an adult depends on which site your reading, I prefer 8'x4'x4' tall, some say you can use 6'x3'x3' tall, temps for babies is 100d tops with another hotspot in the 90s and ambient temps around the 80s, adults need up to 150d highest hotspot and have each spot going down to 100, best to have a level system under your heat light so he can choose which it want when it want same for ambient temps as babies, in the 80s. whole food is best, they like lots and lots of insects in the wild, so im breeding dubia rouches atm for when i get mine on the 30th. heres a good caresheet i like for you to look at. im going to set my tank up like your, its nice SAVANAH/BOSC MONITOR - BambooZoo

Basking spots even for babies need to be lot warmer that 100 degrees. Between 120-130 is best and then slowly jack it up as they grow. Other than that, what you said was right on.
