Post Red-Tail not eating /Winterbreak?

Back in 07, I traded my ball for a 5' red-tail. Jake is pretty well tempered, never snapping, and sometimes even a little timid. He'll run away from his food if he's not hungry. (yes i feed him live, but only under constant supervision)

Problem is, last winter he ate his last meal in november and although I attempted to feed him regularly, he didn't eat again until JUNE!!!! I know some snake might go on hiatus from eating during the winter months but thats a lil extreme!

There are no really good herp vets here in Atlanta that have been helpful so I was wondering if anyone has obseerved something similar or is my snake just kookie, cuz once again, its January and he hasn't eaten since NOVEMBER!!
