Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

I am thinking about purchasing a Pastel Ball Python male 07. He is eating small live rats and is friendly, looks healthy and has never had health problems.

I am new to the reptile business, I live in Hamilton, ON, Canada.
Is $250CAD a good price?

if the animal is healthy and you feel that it is worth 250 then buy it.

Yup, what Julian said: The animal is worth what you're willing to pay for it (along with a thousand other customers). As breeders, we really don't set the prices for animals, the market (read: customers) do. If our animals are priced too high, they don't sell.

No way man most pastels i have seen are usually $150 dollars... $250 sounds a little pricy

No I saw them yesterday at a show for 150$-175$ but I agree it is what you think the animal is worth. I know this is going to get me some responses but I feel that no matter what it is still a 30$ snake. Not big on morphs to each their own.

Re: Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

in some morphs you dont pay for the looks, you pay for the genes. why can breeders charge more for a yellow belly morph even though to the untrained eye it looks very similar to a normal ball? because of the potential it has when bred to another yellow belly or other morphs.

if you feel a ball is a ball and is only worth 30 bucks then dont get one. the attitude of value placed on an animal based on what it is "worth" is disgusting and if you have that attitude you shouldnt own animals.

just my 0.2...

an average looking pastel for 250 may be pricey but an exceptional looking one would get that from me anyday.

Re: Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

If you truly appreciate the genetics of your ball pythons, only being concerned with what some animals look like, is shallow and lacks any foresight and/or patience. It's what's inside that counts. Not everything gives you that immediate satisfaction, some things require time (god forbid!).

Re: Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

Everyone has their own opinion. That is why I said to each their own. If you like morphs and you feel the price is right fine. I just do not like morphs. I like the snakes the way they are. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but I do care about my snakes and take good care. Right heat, humidity, etc. I come to the forum for advice/questions and such. That is what a forum is to give your thoughts and ideas wther they are right or wrong still your own opinion. I have/had Ball Pythons and like them just the way they are. I see the beauty in nature not what can be made or bred.

YES!!!!! I finally find someone that agrees. Morphs are the biggest load of **** out there right now. I have seen at shows where people tell someone ya this is a whatever ball python morph and it barely looks any different from a regular but they jack the price up 200 dollars and call it more rare. It's a load of **** to me.

Wow! I thought I was the only one in thinking that. It's nice to know someone else does. I was on another forum guy posted five pictures of supposed Ball morphs and I could not tell the diff.

Re: Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

Depends on the morph. I can see paying more for a distinctly different-looking morph, like piebald, mojave, leucistic, etc. But the yellow bellies look just like normals to me. The yellow pastels are nice, and do look different; I almost bought one for $125. I would say $250 is high for a pastel, unless it's a proven breeder. I went to Hamburg yesterday and saw spiders going for $250-350. They are my favorite morph, but I am still waiting a bit to see if the price comes down more with the bad economy before I get one. IMO, wait a bit and find a cheaper pastel, unless you just have to have this one.

Ya I like some boa morphs like the sunglows and stuff and salmons but they actually look different and albinos and stuff and piebalds like willow said but for the super this and double this its just stupid i think.

Re: Pastel Ball Python price inquiry

Depends- the super cinny balls are solid gray-brown, while regular cinnys just look like dark brown normals.
