He is a 2008. Granite is the "morph" he is which make this snakes colors/patterns & IJ is the type of snake. IJ is short for Irian Jaya. IJs are a subpecies of Carpet Pythons. Typical IJs look nothing like the Granite morph. Mark

Hey, Mark, are there any red granite morphs? The granite in my home region is red!

Seriously, he's a beauty. I'm thinking that maybe one of these should be my next snake; they don't get too big for me, and I really like the granites.
