i have a very young BCI and he just seems to burrow all the time. first time he did it i thought he escaped his terrarium some how but i found him under the stuff in the tank. he burrows like a worm. is this normal? im geussing it is just want some other thoughts/answers
i dont have a log hide but i have a bunched up ball of fake plant vines with leaves that hides quite a bit he used to hide within that till he found out how to dig lmao
just get a rubber tub and cut a hole in it if you only want to spend a dollar.
or if you want to spend 25-50 get a nice exo terra cave for it. snakes need lots of places to hide.
you can also use cork bark, it looks a little nicer
for my ball pythons i just had black plexi glass huts made up that are like 14" long and the width of the cage. and the sides are about 4" high. so i put them in the cage, and put the water dish on top opf them and u dont lose floor space. but there is still a big area under there for them to get into and its dark so the light doesnt come in. they stay in there all day. cost me 26 bucks for each hut cause black plexi is more expensive, and it costs more to have them bend it.
ok because i got a ball python about 4.5 feet long i wasnt sure if there was a hide big enough for him. and once my boa gets really big does he still need a hide?
my 6' boas hides are cork bark, and i use those square tubs from the dollar store and cut a hole out a pretty big hole with a soldering iron. they coil up in them and love them.. i think.
any size snake still needs something it can go in to feel safe and secure or to relax.
lots of people dont give big snakes a hide, but i think its a good idea.
