thanks for the advice about my stressed out snake, i followed it and didnt handle it for the last couple weeks since she was striking at her last meal in fear. i have left her alone wiht the tank partially covered and last nite she was laying outside the hide so i lifted it out and we took the live mouse and put it in some paper towel and held its tail so it couldnt move. then we whacked it with a hammer not too hard but not soft either, it killed the mouse without breaking the skin, then i lightly placed it on her and then put the lid back on and covered her tank up again and turned out the light, the mouse was gone this morning, i will keep this up for at lest the next month or so til she gets unstressed . i just wanted to say thank you to you all!! mostly gonesnake and aaron.. thanks both of you! now all i need to know is where is a good place to purchase frozen mice in bulk online? our petshop in this little redneck town dont sell them frozen...only live and dont wanna have to buy like 50 or so and kill them all and freeze them myself..thanks again!

besides the mice themselves at the petshop are like 3 dollars or more each live..thanks

I believe rodentpro is a decent online supplier. I've heard plenty of good things about them, but I've never used them myself.

I'd just becareful placing a freshly killed mouse onto a snake without some sort of tongs. You may be mistaken as the prey at some point. Also, you don't need to place the mouse on the snake. Just lay it in front of the hide.

well when i feed dremora i take out the hide since it takes up half the tank...lol. i just leave teh water dish in, and i understand about the tongs but i put that mouse in by its tail and gently dropped it on dremora so she didnt get close enuff to bite me. if she was bigger i would be more worried about that. i guess she is too stressed and that is why shes not eating correctly..hopefully following these rules you all told me she will be back to normal in no time! thanks

yea i know...it hurts too, never been struck by dremora but have been struck been struck by a full grown boa before and it hurt and bled. owwwwwie

Buying in bulk for just one snake may not be really economical; you'll be stuck feeding her mice long past her outgrowing them just so you dont waste them, since you need to buy 100 at a time. Also shipping is about $40; even if petstore prices are higher then bulk prices for one or two snakes your saving money buying a few months worth at a time there then ordering online. Just something to think about.

well the frozen mice are 50 for 22.50 plus shipping. i think thats a good deal cause the mice live in the pet store are close to 4 bucks a piece. thanks for the advice tho
