Please tell me you haven't bought the snake.

If you have get it to a vet ASAP. The bumps could be anyting.

I would say, no. They're not worth it. A good portion of the time they die.

Out of curiosity, how much did you get it for, and where, exactly, are the bumps? (Popping late?)

Well with wild caught if they have bumps then it is probably parasites in my opinion. So they are not worth your time and effort just to have it die on you later. If you already have it best of luck to you and hope it all works out.

Tape worms. Very common with imports. Not much to worry about, but it's always best to rid any import of parasites to reduce the risk of stress related illnesses. Usually the only way to remove the worms is to make an inscision and squeeze or pull them out. Another reason to buy Captive Bred.

Good luck.

Re: Wc Gtp

I sure hope you are practicing a strict quarantine for this specimen. If not you are putting everything you already have at risk. So far its cost you almost $300 for a sick snake. After the vet vist the snake will have cost $500-$600 & will still be sick, but will at least be getting treated. Hopefully all its ailments can be cured & it will feed & thrive after for you. Mind you a healthy CB one could have been bought for the $600 to begin with Why even go there (WC)? Hardly worth it, at least someone is making an effort to help the snake anyway, kudos for that. Re: Wc Gtp

I agree. WC, let alone young chondros are not suitable for first time chondro owners. It's best to start with a documented CBB animal that's around a year or so old.

I do however, believe there is a place for wc animals, but these are in the hands of experienced and dedicated individuals. I have my fair share of successes and failures with imports.

Good luck and buy CBB.
