Calico Retic

Here is my Calico , she is around 13-14ft and quite tame ... her colour can change quite alot as you can see from the pics....

As you can see from this pic she is starting to turn white , every shed there is more white coming from tail upwards...

also she is not kept in this tub , I use these for cleaning out there viv's and taking pics as its easier

Thanks
Mike

She is fine to handle but she does have her off days!!

I know of 2 Calico Males..........but would say it must be link to females in some way as there as loads more female calico's around...

Thats what I like about the calico trait , everyone is different and you never know what could happen with the next shed.....

Thanks
Mike

Re: Calico Retic

amazing looking tic. Is it still considered gospel that calico is a sex specific morph that only effects females. I personally have yet to see or even hear of a male calico.

Re: Calico Retic

Not only does it seem to tend towards Females (but I actually have heard of a single male calico...in hiding...LOL)

But it's an also a completely unpredictable trait that seems to no have ryme or reason. LOL

Re: Calico Retic

I have seen pics of another calico but from what the owner says she is evil and will not let anyone near her. The only way he gets good pics is to throw her some food and then take the pics while its 1/2 way down.

Re: Calico Retic

What a gorgeous Retic!!!!

I have a stunner femal Retic that is supposed to be a poss Calico. Was told that the dam didn't start to turn till she was 5 years old. My girl is only two, maybe 2.5 years old.

At what age did your female start to turn?
I hear it's between two and five years old. Thank you.
