Stupid Question!!!

I can't belive I am asking this.

I recently bought my first ball python. I am fairly new to snake keeping. My question is this. Could a full grown ball python kill a jack russell terrier.

My nightmare would be in a few years coming home to find my snake jail breaked from it tank(ive herd that happens somethimes) constricting my dog.

I am a responsible person so i can't see this happening.

Any one have any comments

It is a tough question and it is a good question. I personal haven't heart any ball kill a dog yet. If you have a male and is smaller size, it is not likely happen. However some female will growth up to six feet and you have a small puppy, then it is hard to say. That is why we need a escape proof enclosure for our snake, it also for its own good.
On the other hand , feed the snake in its enclosure or separate box so that it won't have a habit eat outside.

The Jackie is full grown now about 3 years old,

I know that something like this probably won't happen, I figure if i take the proper precautions the snake should never be able to get out in the first place.

I agree, never heard of a bp killing a dog...but a big female definitly has the potential to kill a small dog (though it is not likely). Most would say it would never happen but its best not to take chances.

It is more likely that if your ball even gets 6 feet that it will not even look at the dog as food. Even if it does it will most likely be the snake that gets the worst of it. You never know the two of them may become friendly(stranger stuff has happened).
