Boaphile or Vision

OK, after a few months of researching I'm down to two cages!

I need honest opinions from actual owners with expiriences.

1) Boaphile 421D (48X24X11.5) for $199.00 each shipped, I'm looking at 10 cages for a total price of $1990. Most likely I would go with two 421D Combo cage sets, 10 cages including the pedestals for $2058.


Or


2) Vision 400 (48X26X14) for $199.00 each shipped, the 10 cages would actually cost $1900.00 shipped, volume discount.


The biggest plus I see with the Vision cages is that it's one solid mold of polyethylene, compared to pieced PVC with glued edges. I like the look of the Boaphiles, but I want something that will out last my boas! The most important things for me are quality, durability, strength & then price!


I'm not going to drop these cages from a 10 story building or throw them around like cardboard boxes! But I want to make sure if I bump into them, lay a gallon of Virosan on them or just from daily usage, that they are not going to fall apart, leak or buckle.

Even if the boaphile are not molded, they are made of 1/4 thick plastic wich is a LOT thicker than the polyethelene used by vision. wide vision cages then to bow more in the middle wich makes the glass almost impossible to pull off when they are stacked. Also, the PVCX used by boaphile hold the heat and humidity better since its core is slightly porous. Theres no recess in boaphile cages also wich facilitate cleaning. Molded cages need to have little bump to give them more strenght(ex: rubbermaids tubs have all kind of recess and kinks to make them solid).

Virosan will clean both type of plastics verry nicely without any effect on them, you can expect the cage to SLIGHTLY bump where the heat pad will be located, but nothing that can be visible or affect the cage fonctions.

I personally prefer slidding glass cages, and a lot of people also do, thats why i build cages that are similar to boaphile but with a different opening system

OK, after chatting with Jeff last night I've decided to give Boaphile a try!!


I'll be ordering one 421 cage (not sure which yet) at this time. Once it arrives and I evaluate it I can do two things. 1) Order the rest because I am 100% satisfied with it from all aspects or 2) I can place it back in the same box and ship it right back for a full refund of the cage money and shipping cost both ways!

Now the only question I have is one or two doors.

Or 421 Coupe cage set, the coupe is the one with 2 doors and no divider.


Cost for the 421D is $1,029, the cost for the 421 Coupe set is $1,124. Difference is $95.00.

I thin the one door is easier to clean and gain access too, the two door seems tight, but is safer during feeding time.

I'm also thinking whether or not to get the pedestals, I could easily build one out of Melamine that would be two levels high to stack the cages on top for less than $50.00 compared to the $84.00 the pedestals cost with the stack set. The plus to building my own would be I could store 8 11qt sterilite tubs under there or 4 24qt tubs. Those pedestals give the stack a finished look, but it seems like wasted space. Still undecided.

What can Boaphile owners tell me about the one and two door styles, which is preferred?

i would go 2 door. First you can get a divider and use it has 2 cages and second it is safer when feeding and also more convenient when it comes cleaning time(with one full door open, you cant acces the botom door wich mean you have to clean the cages one by one or open/close doors everytime). Even if it seems tight, i have the same size of cages except with slidding glass(so there always glas blocking half the acces), i never had any problem to pull out adult boas from a single space.
