VBB eggs
well I ended up getting some eggs from a female vbb this year beautifull looking eggs at that, she laid 3 and I removed them and I could clearly see at least 2 more in there, well when I returned home from work the 2 eggs were still in her and she was upside down dead, it was wierd, hopefully everything goes well and these eggs hatch in good shape,

Oh Joe! That sucks really bad!!! I hope the eggs pull through.
How big was the female? What do you think caused the egg retention?

Ya they are quite large, they can be started on big pinkies or small fuzzies. Glad to hear the little ones from me are making little ones now. Sorry again to hear about the female, Mark

she was right around 7ft, and im really not sure what the problem was, I have had animals retain eggs before for weeks, without problems, never seen this before, I have cut eggs out of females before and never had any sucsess with them hatching , so I didnt even try this time... The 3 eggs I did get though look amazing though so im sure they should hatch no problem...

Damn -- that really sucks Joe Great news about the eggs, but really crappy about the female. Best of luck with the eggs though -- hope there's a female in there for you.

Those are yep. There are also Taiwans which are the same thing basically except in yellows & browns. Cave dwelling Rats are also quite similar in appearence with a different color scheme. There are other similar ones as well such as Chinese rats etc. Mark

Sorry about your loss, Joe, but good luck with the eggs. I have 11 blue beauties about to hatch any day now, the shells are thinned and starting to cave, so I expect pipping before the weekend. Then Mark will help me sex them and we'll both bleed and have a merry ol' time, right Mark? hehe

Most likely I'll probably have the "crappy ends" & you'll have the "bitey ends" LOL I kind of miss not having any of the lil buggers around this year as I sold my adults last season : ( Mark
