My boa's poop really smells bad!

I have a Red Tail Boa and when he poops it smells really bad. It almost stinks up the whole house. I was wondering if all snake's poop smells bad, or if there is something wrong. If all snake's poop smells bad, what is the best thing to use for bedding in his cage that will absorb some of the stench?

Well, I have yet to smell any of my boas $#!t and thought it smelled good! :toilet:
It's normal that it stinks, but if it is more rancid than normal, it could be because of a few different reasons. It could have internal parasites or it might not be properly digesting the food due to improper temperatures. I would take a fecal sample to the vet and see if parasites are a problem. Hope this helps.

Yea I would think that it would be from temps. Up the temps I think what are they? Did you have to $h*** in there for a long time? Depending on how big it is i think just paper would be ok. for a small one. Big one Paper LOL hah or just some ECO Earth, it works good for me.

In addition to what Craig said, are you sure it is a poop and not a regurge? I've actually never encountered poop that could stink as bad as you are describing, and I've encountered some pretty bad poop! :toilet: Either way, you will want to get a poop sample to the vet to get checked out. What temps are you keeping your boa at?
