What do I do

Today on my way home from work I spotted a pigeon
on the side of the road that looked injured . I
walked up to him and sure enough he was and it
appears that he has a broken wing and possibly a
few other injuries . He is very weak and in pretty
rough shape . I called all the wildlife rescues
that I could find they were all either closed ,
could not pick the bird up or just couldnt help at
all . I dont know what to do for him , I dont have
a car so I cant bring him to the rescue. I have put
him in a dark place with some water but I dont know
what else to do. If anyone has any ideas please let
me know I dont want the pour thing to die . I know
he is just a pigeon but he still deserves to live .
Thank you .

keep him in a dark quite place like you are now, either call a cab and take him to a rescue, or wait till tomorrow morning, have a friend take you and him to a rescue, or call humane society and have them tell you the name/number to a wildlife (bird) rehabilitator.

Just make sure he can breath, a old cat carrier would be best with a towel thrown over the front so it can have ventilation.

I found an injured pigeon a few years ago which had a hurt wing. if you can hold the pigeon than put him on your had and wiggle your hand a bit so he has to balance by spreading his wings. this will help the wing heal andstrengthen a you can feed him mealworms and birdseed. mine became friendly so i could hold him and he would come towards me and coo when i fed him.
good luck!

Make sure you keep him warm and dry away from cool drafts, offer him fruit or seed and hopefully that wildlife shelter will take him in soon. If not then keep him in a cage with a perch so he can practice perching and balancing feed him a commericial seed diet with fruit and veggies offered daily and the wing should heal on its own within a month or so and once he seems to be able to use it again set him free.
Best of luck
Kayla
