very excited about this one!!!
Hey guys,
I just wanted to show everybody my newest addition to my collection. This wee one is a unsexed Nephrurus Levis Levis ( aka smooth knob tailed gecko ). It's exactly 1 month old. I got him/her from Gene Richardson of GCS Reptiles in the States. I'm also expecting a sexed pair of these guys sometime this summer, so I'm hoping this little one ends up being a female. These guys are the cutest little things. The way they hunt down crickets is hilarious. Just awesome! Anyways guys, I just wanted to share a few pics of him/her (hopefully a her lol).
Thanks for looking, I hope you like!
Take care,

DRROOOOL ! ! !
I love those guys.
There's a pretty good chance yours is female but still a bit early to tell. Females tend to be a bit darker with a purple sheen. At the tender age of 1 month it's still early but it's a good sign for female at this stage.
I had 3 of them a few years ago, but they arrived in such sad shape that none of them survived long. I still have a soft spot for knobbies, ... some day I'll work up the guts to try again.
In the meantime, keep posting pictures of yours to keep me going.

Thanks for the all the kind words you guys Any kind of knob tail is difficult to get in Canada. Ask Hilde and she'll tell you all about the problems with the knobbies in Canada. Thats why I went south of the border to get mine. They're not the easiest gecko to care. I wouldn't recommend one to a novice herper. And no there's not a waiting list forming yet lol. I'm hoping to have babies by next year, if not the year after. This is a project that I don't want to rush
Take care you guys!

Hey, AMAZING gecko! I was just wondering. If you were to get one from the states and you had to pay for shipping and the cost yurned into canadian dolloars, how much do you think is would all cost to get one in the end in canadian dollars!
Thank You

wow, what a cute little guy/girl.
The closest thing to N. levis levis in Canada would be Underwoodisaurus, which luckily aren't too uncommon up here.

The price for knobtails right now in the U.S. are about $250US for unsexed babies and $650-$850US for sexed pairs. Most breeders don't ship to Canada but some do. Shipping to Canada you're looking at around $200-$300 for the shipping alone. What I do is get them to ship the gecko to a UPS store in the States closest to me. Which is about 50 minutes. The cost of shipping is about $45-$50 then. Then when you cross the border you have to declare the gecko with it's value and pay the duty on it. It's much easier this way. Hope this answers some of your questions.
Take care,
