a gravid 6 lined racerunner holding her feet from the hot sand

a s. black racer at the pool

a peninsula ribbon snake

a nice gravid FL banded water snake

a baby yellow rat snake

a mature yellow rat snake

and finally this pair of mangrove salt marsh snakes seen mating in a tree.

what kind of camera do you use? if you dont mind my asking
how close are you actually getting to take these shots?

Thanks. All the shots except the racerunner and the FL banded watersnake were taken with the cheapest Kodak digital. (I doubt they even make it anymore) Model #4200. In the "close up" mode, I'd say from 12"-16" away from the subjects. The racerunner and FL banded watersnake were taken with a Kodak #7590 (I think). The racerunner was taken up close, maybe less than 12", but the water was taken from around 12-15 feet away.
The 4200 is less than $100. the 7590? is around $450. I'll check on the exact model. Both came with the charging/sharing docks as well.
