It's just the same principle as not refreezing chicken etc for yourself to eat... Most of the time it will be ok, but you could get food poisoning from it. I would say, if he refuses the mouse just throw it away. It's really not worth the chance of your snake being ill or even dying for the sake of the cost of a couple of fuzzies.
