Display cabinet makers (for ball python) in U.K.?

Does anyone know where i can get a vivarium like the ones from showcase cages (www.showcasecages.com) in the U.K.? I cant find anywhere and those ones have really blown my mind! A website or anything will be cool... Thanks guys...

maybe talk to a few carpenters.. you may be able to get one made up and you can paint seal and add electrical... or check department stores or something like that for a cabinet that you can customise... just when your looking just think to yourself " would this make a good cage"

for get the display cage. ball pythons are not display animals, you will hardley ever see them. put your ball in a rubbermaid.

oh no not the rubbermaids again. Thanks for the advice guys, but i think i prefer to house reptiles in tanks that i can see into, and put in that xtra effort to keep it right. I do understand that ball pythons are easier to keep in rubbermaids but i believe they can be kept with just as good husbandry in a different viv.

Just my personal preferance

it's not about your personal preference though, it's about what is best for the snake.

Yes and like i said the snake can be housed in a non-rubbermaid enclosure and still live with the correct husbandry requirements, it is higher maintenance but its what people do instead of putting them in plastic boxes.

Sorry for not replying earlier but yeah i think those showcase cages look great, i've never seen anything like that. It seems they have put a lot of thought into them.

well ive been here a little and i can tell you just from reading... if you can see the snake.. hes not gonna be healthy, most likely..

my cusin has a ball that loves to come out and hang out on him.. perfers it out more than in his aquarium.. but thats 1 outta 100...

to be on the safe side id suggest saving you money as of yet and houseing in a fish tank, its alot more work but it may save yopu alot of money.. and if after a little while your snake isnt feeling secure enough or is stressed out than youll want to go rubbermaid... but if he is fine all secure happy then get a display type enclosure..

i can almost garentee you that you will have to house in a rubbermaid... but if you want to waste the money and not listen to the many breeders and long time keepers that are on this board i wish you luck.. cause when you do get your ball and when you do start having problems there just gonna tell you the same thing.. put him in a rubbermaid... and until then your not gonna get any more help...

p.s. i know all this cause ive read through nearly every thread since the begining of this site... and this has come up alot... if you do a search and find out how many converted youll probably find 3 pages threads of ppl who converted and another 6 pages of ppl having or had problems before converting...

Thanks, that was a lot better than smeagel's statement. You've actually somehow made me think twice about it now.

I think i'll try it out with the ball in that enclosure, if it doesnt work, i will find the equivalent of a rubbermaid and use that. Then house something else in the viv. But i am gonna stay stubborn about this, and carry on believing that i will be able to keep my ball happy in his viv., i think it can be done. Others have done it.

Thanks for your advice peter (i guess thats you're name) and yes i will buy whatever the equivalent of a rubbermaid is over here anyway. Just to be safe.

the less amount of glass you have the better but you can still view your snake... also if you have the inside dark my guess is that it would be more secure for the snake... its only got about 12" of viewing space so it may be secure enough..

just make sure you dont make the cage pleasing to the eye more than pleasnt for the snake

Yeah I was planning on getting a wooden corner viv, but have just been offered a free veiled cham enclosure so my options have just changed a lot. Its not everyday that you get offered a free mesh enlosure, and al the accessories.

Don't get a mesh enclosure for ur bp, it will not hold humidity well.
