Corn Breeding Question

Been reading info on breeding corns but there's one thing I'm confused about. Do you phisically take the female from her enclosure and put it in the container for egg laying or place the container in her enclosure for her to lay the eggs in? Or do you pick the eggs up as a group and put them in the egg container with the vermiculite? I wont be breeding the female until next year but want to have a clear plan before then.
