Talking Ok, so i was bored right...

and I started to look at all the old posts and threads i made, i was very shocked..

At one point i really wanted a monitor, so i was thinking about getting either a water,blackthroat,sav,nile..

and i started a thread about it, and it ended up going to 4 pages of me being stubborn, and arguing, also finding out that there are actually a few members on here that aren't very nice, lol..

anyway that was like a year ago, and i got fed up of arguing about reptiles so i stopped posting here, lol.

it ended up i decided to not get a monitor, because of there size...

anyway, i just want to say sorry to some of the people i argued with in the past on here(you know who you are )

but one thing i must say, looking at my past posts, i noticed this bored has the most amazing and friendly moderators i have seen on any forum, period, mods like heatherose, matt k, marisa, ect..

anyway, after reading all my posts from a while ago, i just figured i'd say what reptiles i will BE GETTING in the next few months.. starting from next week..

white lipped python, thanks to bistrobob(you the man )

bearded dragon (my girlfriend loves them)

a kingsnake (probably a cali, they are so nice, lol)

maybe a western hoggnose(i dont know, i like them cause from the ones i saw they think there cobras, lol)

brazilian rainbow boa (for sure)

and probably more, just dont know what yet..

also, as some of you can see, i posted in the cage building forum what me and my uncle will be building, all of our reptile will be housed in those (melamine cages)

it is a project that me and my uncle are starting in a few weeks, we will build them to look kinda like a wall unit, what we are planning is to build 3 of them, each one being 3 or 4 cages in one(see post in cage forum)

anyway, i am bored, plus this is my 200th post, lol..

The thing I love about hognose's is if you VERY GENTLY pinch them as if you were something nibbling on them, they will role over and play dead! But it is sooo overexaggerated, they role over, open their mouth and their tongue is sticking out the side of their mouth. It is absolutely hilarious. It is sooo cute, that's what made me want to get some. I love em!

Iceman, not to burst your bubble, but a hognose is illegal in Quebec. Even if there are some for sale in petshops, they are illegal.

wouldn't it just be eastern hognose that are illegal and the western variety is okay?

There are many non native types that should be perfectly legal. I know Alberta has both a native species & a restricted list, you should have something similar there to go by for guidelines on what is/isn't legal, Mark

If westerns are restricted, I'd imagine it has to do with the possible danger of this rear-fanged animal's toxicity.

Iceman, I come from the exact same situation as you. I used to be a horrible member of the forums, though I hope that everyone has forgiven the past, many of us were off to a ruff start. But we realize we cant enjoy the hobby with out this community.

Members of the genus Heterodon can be considered venomous due to the presence of true venom. Though hardly an exceptionally dangerous animal, some people may react adversely to a bite from a hognose snake. Legislators rarely pay much attention to semantics, such as mildly venomous, so it's just easier to lump all venomous animals into one group and ban possession of them all.

ALLS venemous snakes and lizards are illegal in the Quebec Province. For now it seem that law is not enforced yet for the rear fang. But they are illegal anyway.

Look in this document:
