Info on "Miracle"
Rather than highjack the "First Aid Box" thread, I’ll deal with "Miracle" over here. I think Betty of Gecko Brothel actually has her now, perhaps she can post a picture of her as a one year old
Ok, confession time. I didn't exactly drop her egg, the container slipped from my grasp and fell apprx 3 inches to the table. It landed hard, and the egg "popped" over the edge of the container, landed on the table, and cracked. It was at apprx 30 days of incubation. The crack was a good one,(no pics) and right at the end of the egg where it forms the point. The yolk contents started to ooze out substantially ~ about enough material to cover my baby fingernail. I cleaned it up and tapestitched it. The egg will form it's own fibrous clot very quickly, and it did so, sealing off the leaking yolk.
"Miracle" went on to complete her incubator time and hatched on the date expected, healthy. She is a Tremper Albino, and her bands show a "severing" or marking that I’ve never seen before... it shows up best in the hatchling, of course.

Very cool story! Just goes to show just how hardy some species eggs can really be! Miracle definitely has a one of a kind pattern to her! Looks like she was mixed and matched... hehehe

Great story What do you mean by 'tapestitched'?
Good luck with her...

I actually used.... a tapestitch The kind the doc puts on after extracting your staples, or removing stitches. You know, a piece of air permeable tape, that's gummy on the backside.

Must be nice being a nurse, huh?
Apparently liquid bandage (or is it liquid bandaid?) can work on small holes in shells, just don't cover too much of it or there's not enough gas exchange.

Miracle as of this month. She's doing great, loves her mealies, and is very social.
