sleepy red eye

i purchased a pair of red-eyes at a reptile show this past saturday and one of them found what must be a comfy spot on the backside of a leaf, he/she has been there since the time i noticed him there sunday morning........ it hasnt moved at all i just figured thats a long time to sleep and it kinda has me a little worried... i'm sure they had a long stressful day the day of the show but the other seems to be much more active. i have done a bit of research on them, i have always been very interested in them but i have never read anything about them sleeping for so long.... is this a normal occurance?

In the 20 or so Red-Eyes I've owned, they really only became active from midnight to 5 in the morning. That's it.

Red-eyes are rather inactive frogs. Mine have a similar activity pattern to what Jeff has described. But when they wake up, it is like aliens have landed and invaded one of my vivariums. They get up, dip their behinds in the water dish, hunt for a little while, then find another leaf or another spot on the glass to park for a little bit. It is always a treat to see the red-eyes do their thing.

Country:
I've had a few red-eyes that pick the same leaf to sleep under for weeks or months. Chances are that you'll find them up and about during the night if you sneak up on them. If you're really worried about the lack of activity, just before the lights go out, try removing the leaf the frog is clinging to. He'll probably move after a while (or maybe hours) when he realizes the leaf is on the ground. The only choice will be to find a new leaf to sleep under the next day. That's one way to find out if he's moving or not. I'm betting he'll find another leaf that's 'comfy' and use it for a few weeks at a time.

thanks guys... actually last night as i was checking up on them i noticed a cricket climbing the plant he had been sleeping on... and he noticed it too his eyes popped open, his head slowly turned to face it then boing...... lol it was really amazing to watch him pounce on the cricket and gulp... it was gone. I definatly had a sigh of relief, to see him active and eating....

by the way i am having to mist often and i was looking into misting machine specifically the habba mist machine, holds 28oz, programmable intervals and duration... is this a good machine does anyone recommend anything.. i'm not concerned with cost.
