herp drinking water question..

We have installed a water softener to our water system, you have to put salt in the water softener to make the water softer. So the water you drink runs through the salt. Is this water okay for my herps too?

Yes you need salt in the water softener in order for it to do anything. I know alot of people just use tap water for their herps, but I choose to use bottled water, simply because my water is highly chlorinated, and I read somewhere on the net that chlorinated water isn't good for your herps. When I don't have bottled water to use I simply use Brita water. Hope this helps some.
Hump.

I use tap because I had well water no additives, but I know if I had an aquatic species I'd use pure bottled water. I heard chlorine doesn't bother non aquatic herps. Could be wrong though.

Yeah you're probably right Beaner, it probably won't hurt 'em, but I just feel better giving them bottled water. I grew up in Walkerton (E. coli outbreak) and have this paranoia about tap water now! : P

Yeah I don't blame ya I have well water like I said and I wouldn't drink city water even though it won't kill me so what I won't drink I won't let my herps drink. I'd say the same about food but we all know better in that case :P up for mouse stew?
