Sick WC

So, you want to buy a wc emerald! I "borrowed" this pic from an ad in which the poster makes statements like "they look like cbb". If you see an animal like this for sale, RUN as far away and as fast as you can!

I saw that ad on the place which we do not speak of aswell. Funny on the statements the seller made such as the one you mentioned above. Animal wise, very sad.

You'd think with the amount of animals the guy is selling, he could get himself a decent camera to take the photos of the animals he is selling... I agree tho.. that animal would not set "foot" in my house...

I took into consideration that the pic wasn't very good, but the loose skin that can be seen on the rock and the way that back section has a "sea snake" flattened look to it is a good indicator of the animals condition. I feel for the animal, but just thinking that someone would sell it in that condition, while comparing it to a cbb, just frosted my cakes!

Hmm, I wish the picture was clearer so you all could explain a bit better what your talking about. Not that I would like to see a better pic of a sick animal, but would like to be better able to recognize whats wrong.

Unfortunatly, so many emmys are WC. I have watched someone help one make quite a miraculus recovery that was purchased in a store right here in Ontario. The animal never sucessfully fed regularly, but it did become rehydrated, free of parasites, and ate (sometimes) without ever regurging.

WC ETB specimens should not be available to the general public. I think the only ones who should be allowed to buy are experienced keepers ( who would defenetly not enjoy receiving such animals in their collections... ).

Sounds like you are talking about this animal in the past tense. Is it still alive?

I am totally done with wc's that are not LTC and problem free. LTC in most corallus circles indicates a minimum of 2 years.

Craig,

The emerald i was talking about was sold earlier this year. At that point it was healthy, however I can't comment on the experience of the purchaser, so I'm unable to say for sure that it's alive (however, I would assume that it is).
