Virus...
Been getting alot of emails lately with a certain virus attached. In the body of the email is usually,
re: Your letter
or
Your file is attached
It has an extention on the file .PIF or program information file.
It is a worm. I-Worm/netsky.d
Do not open it.
Anyways just to let everyone know.

Wow my friend was just telling me about that virus with that same extension. He thought a friend of his sent him a vid or something. He opened it, then BOOM! Virus alert warning appeared. Wow does it ever spread fast...

JonD, we must both know someone that has us in thier Address Book cause im getting it sent to me every 20 minutes.. I was thinking about starting a thread in regards to it as well.. It is coming from someone on this board, so I suggest that EVERYONE run a virus scan and see if it's you...

Yeah I have gotten it from an individual on this board and also completely random ones too. Yesterday I got one for a new car dealership in Oakville who I have never delt with. Seems pretty random...

Virus protection hasn't been optional for a while. I think of it like an Operating System nowadays, something you can't operate a computer without.
Buy a good one kiddies, and make sure you keep it up to date. Most of them can be set to automatically update.

Shadow: That is good advice. I did that awhile back and everything seems to be working better. I figure that people write viruses that will affect a larger scale of the pc population (Windows). That is why I would prefer a nix distro, but I will keep windows on right now for my gaming needs

Thankfully my Norton catches anything trying to come into my outlook..
Also, a tip for everyone.. Make sure you don't have Outlook set to automatically open emails and attachments..

Actually I just got one from ssnakess administrator. Admit it, it's you isn't it! And that quote was just trying to throw us off your trail. Well MISSY we're on to you.
OH, I love firefox. Still have to ditch outlook though. Mind you I have two anti viruses, a fire wall and a filter, so nothing has gotten through in quite some time.
