Talking Recipe for leo gut load

So I have kind of developed something that I use on my rescue geckos, as well as many other lizards that I have had, and it seems to work well. Originally we would just use Eukenuba puppy growth wet dog food, very high in beneficial fats and protiens. However, it was not very high in calcium and when we would mix in calcium it would become to thick to be able to be administered through a syringe. However, I found that if you add cod liver oil it not only adds beneficial omega 3 fatty acids, but also acts as an anti-coagulant to compensate for the introduction of calcium and vitamins. I also threw in some garlic and beta carotene. Essentialy I just take one can of dog food, mix in about 1/4 can of miner-all, 1/2 container of jurassi-vite, one crushed up beta carotene pill (10,000 IU), one teaspoon of garlic, and a few cap fulls of cod liver oil. This yields a very pungent mixture that they seem to love. I have had many eat it out of a bowl and I use it as a weekly supplement, and have noticed a difference in their coloration, and it works wonders on rehab geckos that have been anorexhic to get them some nutrition until you can coax them into eating again. Just thought I'd share that with you, for what its worth.
