Helix Controls/Thermostats

Helix Controls

I might be getting a used Freedom Breeder from a friend and I been toyin with the idea to hook up a Helix to the heat tape on the panels of the breeder.

Cept I see there are a few modles. Which one is best? And which other accesseries do I need for the night time drop?

That is only the main reason I am looking into the Helix because not only will it control my temps during the day more effiently but it will drop the temps for a nice night time cycle for me with out me doing anything.

Those you use the Helix, I would apperiate any advice or comments. As well as the Freedoms, if I missing something because I haven't taken a look at the Freedoms or Neodesha's modles in a while.

Thanks,
Jess

I use the Helix DBS-1000's, and I love them. For a single cage, or for a rack up to 500 watts, I think it's the best choice. As for night drop, you can pick up the Helix Appliance Night Timr COntrol #2002 that hooks up to a timer and the Helix. Available at www.beanfarm.com for $30.

DBS 1000 is probably the way to go. Jeff at helix is not producing the Supersystem at present, and is presently putting all of his effort into the DBS 1000s as it is his biggest seller. I have been waiting well over a year for a couple of Supersystems.
