my beardie is acting really wierd. .. i think he might have terminal indigestion or that thing and hes been eating sand for the last hour or so... i tried to raise the temp cuz i read that helps and i put him in a different container not his tank with sand. its happened three times then went away when he woudnt walk around... help please.... im new so im not sure what to do
yeah i put him in a seperate cage when i noticed the sand in his mouth
i dont think the vet near here works with reptiles either. anyway he stopped having terminal whatever i think he hasnt done anything but bask 4 the last 1/2 hour
how big is your BD? How old is he? How hot is the basking spot? Do you suppliment?
OK there's a lot of info missing but you can start here. Take all the sand out of the cage
put him in a warm bath (100F) for 10-20 min and gently massage his belly pushing from head to tail
make sure he can bask vertically or at least diagonally so gravity can help get sand out of him. This is important with babies and even young juvies.
If he does not poop he amy need an beardie enima (last ditch effort). this must be done by a certified herp vet as it is a VERY DELICATE procedure.
good luck

'06 babies are here!
hey Bdragon! im the same guy from petreptiles.com
anyway, the BD is doing better, i have him in a seperate tank (its one of those clear plastic container things) with a white paper substrate. hes started chasing his tail... ive been feeding him gatorade and baby food mixed with water in a dropper and he likes it. yeah i also put a shallow water bowl and he was sitting in it drinking yesterday. he is about 5-6 inches at about 6 or 7 mo. old. yeah i do put Rep-Cal on the crix and gut-load them. Right now his sitting up against the side of the container basking and watching me type. he did poop twice in the last 2 days so i think hes getting better.
If your dragon is 5-6 inches at that age, something is wrong Im thinking. A dragon at the age of 6 weeks is usually that size. Are you sure of the age? Jim.
