GARY D:

Wow, I love the look and man those look huge, the snakes are going to love the space too.

I can' t seem to see the opening to get to the inside of the cages is it a 1 piece glass slider or ?

Great job

All cages are on casters to allow access to the rear doors (in compliance with the provinces request as per my zoo permit). The doors are cut in ergonomic rounds to reduce noticeability will be even less noticeable once planted and furnished. Each unit is 7' high (not including casters) and had to be assembled in the room. To reduce weight and to give more flex to the units while being moved, faces are made from acrylic.

GARY D:

Thanks for the info I thought the egg nog (no alcohol) was blurring my vision and the doors were obvious

Great work though I like the full design.

Tony

EDIT:

Ahh now I see the doors, very nice set up.

Wood is pine and plywood, the green you see is likely just reflection.

provinces request? zoo permit? How many animals do you need to get a zoo permit and what are the advantages?

Here in SK, I'm not sure there is a criteria for how many animals as per the issuing of a permit. I believe it's based on individual project proposals. And there are far more disadvantages than advantages for the hobbiest. Only real advantage is that I can legally keep many species which are otherwise restricted. And ofcourse operate as a business. But with that freedom comes a red-tape hell and a lot of other requirements. It would be far easier to move to Ontario, or BC. Or rural Manitoba for that matter.
