crested geckos. With an 80 gallon you could have 1.3 ( one male three females) They are medium size lizards. COme in all diffrent colors, and do very well in naturalistic vivariums. An average adult is 10 inches snout to tail tip and they also eat fruit. They are aboreal so they will climb on any cage decorations you put in, They also do well with certain types of small skinks. The skinks are ground dwellers during they day and the cresties will use the rest of the cage at night. Crested geckos require no additional heat (room temp is fine). Here is a pic to get you thinking. The one in the pic is olny 4 months old he will triple in size.

by "cheap" I hope you mean "quality animals in good health that I may find at a competitive price", because nothing is cheap when it comes to keeping reptiles correctly. However, if you are wondering about average prices for cresteds, since you're in the US, you can probably find them for anywhere from $40 to many hundreds of dollars. Don't forget to research your animal of choice a lot before going out and acquiring one. Definitely check out the crested gecko forum here on ssnakess.com as there are many knowledgeable people on there and it is an invaluable source of information for people of all levels of experience.

Best of luck,
-Adam

Well being in Utah ie the States you are a lucky Sob because the should be readily available. Just go to Yahoo type in what you want and usually some beeders will pop up with all the other BS or try, "the other site". The one that shalt not be named.

Crested Geckos are a great choice PM me if you want the information of a competitive breeder in the states who I just bought 5 beautiful babies from. I've yet to breed my pair or I'd reccomend them, but unfortunatly haven't felt confident enough with my female yet. She was dehyrated and skinny when I got her and I really want to make sure she's healthy for about a year before I put her in with the male.

Also I'd reccomend some type of Leaf Tailed Gecko, unless you've never kept reptiles before then I'd definatly stick with the Cresteds. However Uros. and Blue Tongues are also a great choice. Or may I reccomend adopting a bearded dragon? I know around here theres a few for adoption dont know about where you live though. If not, buying ones always something fun, they have thee' best personalities.

Uromastyx!!!

I agree with Tim & Julie. I f you want colour and personality you need a couple of uromastyx(AKA spiney tailed lizards, Dab lizards). This species in my opinion is so underated! You are so fortunate to live in the States when it comes to uromastyx selection! There are several different species and all different colours, patterns and sizes! I'm talking reds, yellows, blue, green, orange, you get the point! I have a home full of uromastyx(I'm hopelessly addicted!).
