night time temps

hey just got a new ball (male about 17 inches). i get the same temps for over and over for daytime 78/80 - 90/95 but not a lot of mention of nighttime temps. I am running about 88/79 (i generally run about the same during the day) at night right now, does that seem reasonable. I run a blacklight and UTH on the warm side and nothing on the cold. Are these acceptable temps or should i provide more of a gradient? Thanks.

Right now given the snakes size you should try and keep that hot spot as close to 95 as possible all the time. If you can get your cool side to 85 day and 80 night you'll be doing fine.
For my balls nighttime starts when the sun goes down and ends when it comes up. I have my temps in sync with the sun.
Cheers,
Trevor

Question Trevor

Why do you suggest keeping the hot spot at all times at around 95? Is it best for hatchling balls to have the heat avilable at all times? I've read that cycling isn't necessary for Balls that arn't going to be used in a breeding project that year, but I've also heard that day and night cycles with a night time drop can also help with the feeding response? I'm I way off base in my thinking?

Thanks

Adam

I've never had a night drop help my baby BP's eat. That's news to me.

I keep all my balls as hot as possible because optimum temps helps them grow up big and strong.lol
