What do you mean by that? Most crocs ARE fresh water. I would say ALL but two species are.

Wow that's a pretty big scale heist. I'm thinking if they had enough brains (or lack there of) to be able to pull that off then the crocs are not going to be found or traced back to who did it.

Actually, it wouldn't have been to hard to steal them. I've been to the facility( Gan Gator ). Its in a deserted area and surrounded by a chain link fence, no alarm or guards at night. The crocs were 6 week old hatchlings so anyone who could climb a fence and carry a burlap sack could have taken them. And frankly, I think they exaggerated the number for their insurance claim. 300 is more like it.
