HELP - Solomon Island Boa
I just bought a baby solomon island boa at the expo from PC Pets. It was really active but when i got it home, it's not really active. It keeps turning around and opening it's mouth. Right now, it's the size of an earthworm.
Is this normal?

What did you do to him? Did you manipulate him a lot? What did you put it in? What did you transported it with and for how long?

I didnt do anything. Didn't handle him or anything. I put him in a 5 gallon tank. Newspaper was the substrate. It was in the container that they gave. It was approximately 45 mins. There were holes in the container.

How did you get it home?? Did you have it in a car?? It was hot yesterday, did you have the AC on in the car? Was the snake exposed to the AC?? Was it TOO hot in the car?? All of these could be factors.. You're being very vauge with your posts, maybe more details about what the snake went through for those 45 minutes could help..

The ac was on in the car. The snake was kept on the drivers seat (inside a container). It wasn't really hot in the car, it wasn't really cold either. I can't really think of anything else.

Was the driver sitting on the container?? Im really not sure what could have caused this to happen.. Perhaps the air was blowing right into the container?? Your best bet may be to call PCPC and speak with Grant, explain to him what happened and see where it goes from there.. Im not sure there's much that can be done.. So much could have happened in that 45 minutes from show to home..

Air conditioner should not be a problem, they can handle pretty cold temps. Good luck getting the new guy feeding. Babies can be tough. What species did you get?

A Pinkie as soon as you got it home? That is great news. Now that he is eating, it should be a great captive. Port Credit sounds like they sell quality animals.
