Here is what most will probably think is a dumb question but i need to know...

When people are listing the snakes/herps they keep and use this sort of numbering system, ie:

0.1 - snow
2.1 - butter motley

what is this telling me? Please give me an explanation on the numbers only, thanks.

0.1 means 1 female
2.1 means two males, one female
2.2.2 means two male, two female, two unsexed

the 0.1 means female and the 2.1 means 2 males and 1 female so the first number is the number of males and the second number is the number of females.
