Canadian Enclosure Manufacturers

Hi,

I'm currently in the market for some nice arboreal cages, for I plan on purchasing a pair of jungle carpets in the near future. I have decided to purchase cages instead of build them myself for I was never one for shop class.

I have been doing alot of research and came across two sources for canadian made reptile enclosures. The first being Reptic-Plastics out of Montreal. The second being the vision style cages that Port Credit pets sells. Both seem to be very well made, and quite affordable.

I'm just looking to see what my fellow herpers thought of these products, and what they're experiences with them were? Also, does anyone know who manufacturers the ones carried by Port Credit Pets, and on Matt Kameka's site? The arboreal cage has caught my eye.

I went and visit reptic-plastic this week as is shop is really close from my house. I wasreally impressed with the quality of it all.

I'm going to be buying some cages from him really soon.

Heya Jay,

Do you build your cages yourself or spec out the design first and have them done at a plastics shop.

I've been talking to a local shop about buying plastics in quantity from them, and they've also offered to mass produce any designs I bring them.

I'm thinking the shop would do a much more consistent job than I would, at least for the first while

i design and make all the cages myself, ive been working with plastic for a while now. the plastic i use is pretty expensive, so by doing the cages myself i can sell them at a descent price!

The place where I purchase my plastics will also do any assembly as well, although they would also do any quantity, be it one cage or one hundred. I was looking at having under ten built and it ended up being almost around $380 per cage I believe. That is when I opted to go with epoxy sealed wooden cages.

I got a first set of 4 Reptic Plastic cages I'll post some pics in the begining of the week. I recommend them to all. Those cages are A1 quality and the price very affordable. + they meet all the needs of the reptiles.I think there's a big futur for you and your company ( not only in Canada but in the states to ) J-B. I have Reptic- Plastic cages and they are awsome. I have several of the Boaphile cages and and like RP cages just as much. I just ordered 6 more. Easy to heat, clean, hold humidity, light, durable, etc etc. I can't say enough about them. A lot of thought has went into making JB's cages. I would recomend his cages to anyone.

thanks for the good comments guys! With the tons of ours i have spent in designing,making cages and trying to find ways to improve over the plastic cages that where already available, you guys cant even imagine how rewarding those good comments are to me! I have tons of ideas for new models, rack system,... i just wish i had more time to be able to make all these ideas a reality! slowly slowly i will have much more products available so i can be able to fill everybody needs, and make the products available now even better than they are! so thanks to all you guys that are encouraging me and my bisness, and i hope i will be able to continu doign this for a long time!

They look awesome. What type of plastic are they made of? I ask this for health reasons (in humans).

its called pvc foam, it is treated with a fire retardant.
