Different names and morphs?

Ok I am trying to learn about all the different types of boa constrictors and I have basics down but there are some that confuse me. Some of the terms just tend to mess me up. Now what are laddertails and I know what a striped is but is there also a revers because I have seen the stripes on the side with the middle stripe not being the red. I am also curious about the sunglows and stuff, are those done in both BCI's and BCC's or is most of the stuff like that done with the BCI's. I am just curious on all the different names and morphs and if yall could just post what you know and maybe some pictures with, that would be great.
Thanks

MSUBIGDAWG:

Good to see you asking questions and trying to learn more about Boa Constrictors. Although your post actually has alot of answers to your questions and that would mean writing a book here for you. So I' ll stick to basics on stripes part.

LADDERTAILS in boas tend to be alot like connecting saddles more in the tail region, like 2 - 6 saddles like a ladder pattern or link pattern, but it is not always a perfect connection or fully complete. But the general idea is close, the better the pattern the more value some people ask on price for this pattern style.

STRIPES in boas can come in a few ways. I myself love striping no matter what type but REVERSE striping is my favorite more over others. Striping can be partial or full stripe pattern of connecting saddles, sometimes 2 saddles and and in the most expensive animals it can be from head to tip of tail. A REVERSE strip is usually a backwards pattern of the edges of the saddles like a ladder only connecting and the back of the boa is usually more clear. This type also has many variations but each are noticable. Side striping is also a type of stripes where the diamonds side patterns is connected and throw selective breeding some people are creating gorgeous boas with full striping in this fashion as well.

SUNGLOWS......yes lots of people are interested in these, but few can afford this morph. I have seen so many types that are very close to beautiful Albinos to very intense yellows, golds and vibrant oranges and red tones as well. As far as I know so far its BCI that most Sunglows come from, again this is selective breeding and there are a few combinations that get Sunglows but again there are many looks to beautiful Sunglows.

Now for the names and pictures that gets extensive and that is where I said its like writing a book. So here is where it is best do a search on Google or something. I know I will get slack saying that but I think I answered your main questions. Anything after this is alot of information to type out, But I see you on more than 1 forum so ask around.

Cya...

Tony
