Are mealworms really THAT BAD!

You guys might have read this article but they do put a good point.

http://www.chameleonnews.com/year200...mealworms.html

So it is very possible that you can feed your reptiles meal worms as a staple diet.(i guess) Not say thats all ill feed

i didn't know you couldn't feed them as most of their diet.... i've never heard any bad things about them.... just that there's other things that might be better for them, mostly cuz you don't have to feed as many!

About the only bad thing I've heard about mealies is that their "outer shell" is not digestible, and that the superworms <zoophobas> are much more digestible and supposed to be more nutritious. I know several people who feed their smaller lizards almost entirely on mealies.
Take care

It is trust me haha, when meal worms or super worm shed there own skin they lose that hard shell, so i htink thats the best time to feed it

Id prefer to give a herp more variety but still use mealies alot aswell as crickets. Chittin shells cant cause impaction just like digestion problems which arent fatal. Just makes it alil harder to digest but still theyre easily digested ofcoarse. But then again famous Ron Tremper feeds his leos only mealies from petstores sand when you look at his tremper giants and reguler leos they look pretty damn amazing.
