Eye shed question?

I doubt but hope, that this will come across clear but I am gonna try.

My Colombian shed. A full shed, no probs, doublechecked to make sure the eye caps were there.

His one eye, the lens, looks dimpled. It's weird, as I've never seen this before. I've never seen a retained eyecap, but this looks like what I picture a retained eyecap to look like. I don't know....

could it be like this because he just shed?
best description is the lens of his eye looks dimpled.
the clear part. not any of the actual eye.

any thoughts?

IF you CAN see the eyecaps on the shed (I saw the pics int he scale counting forum) then the dimple you see is not retained eyecap. What is sounds like to me is it may be dehydration.
What you can try is to put your baby in the tub with some warm water (like your temp to the touch) with a rock or something for it to cling to, your baby will most likely hang on the rock and will drink. This should help it....
I know this because I had the same thing with my boa, after the shed (she hadn't been drinking for 2 weeks during the blue and pre shed) and came out with a dimpled eye. After a soak in the tub, and a big drink, I sprayed her enclosure every morning and night (just to get the humdity up past 50%) and within a couple days it was back to normal.

I don't know about dehydration, as he drinks quite well and frequently. I will however give him a couple sprays throughout the day though and see if that helps any.

I can't bathe him right now, as he just ate last night......but I will throw another bowl in his cage, and work on getting the humidity up as well. I'll have to check and see what the level is right now.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, often just in daily cruising through the tank they can bump into things or rub the wrong way and slightly indent the eyes. I've witnessed the same thing with my boas. Sometimes just letting them slide through your hands and giving the side of head a little light rub can fix the problem. Good luck

We saw this indentation in most of our ball pythons from time to time, even when they were apparently well hydrated, well fed and freshly shed. I was told by several individuals at the time that it was not uncommon and would resolve with increased humidity, especially in their hide area (where they spent almost all their time). We started using a damp coconut-husk bedding in the hidebox routinely and it did seem to eliminate the denting, but that was shortly before we placed them, so not sure of long term benefits.
