used cage stinks...

Hi!
I bought a used wood cage and have washed it multiple times, even with organic soaps and sponges, etc.. l et it air-out, etc... but it still has a stink inside..

Anyone dealt with this problem in any way before??

Wood retains odor. Period. If you can't stand the smell, your options are; 1.) clear coat it with a sealant or, 2.) buy/make a new one. Good luck.
