Breeding Question

Tomorrow will be exactly a month since both my crested geckos laid eggs. My leo is about to lay eggs, she's digging right now. My question is are crested gecko's the same as leo's when it comes to laying in exact intervals? should I be expecting eggs tomorrow?

Also I was reading a post on kingsnake for a pair of crested for sale. It said non burned out pair. What factors are considered when a gecko is burned out from laying eggs?

Geckos are individuals and as such, Cresteds (and Leos and everything else) don't lay at exact intervals. Diet, breeding behavior, stress, environmental conditions, etc. all play a role in determining when a female is going to lay.

If your cresties laid eggs about a month ago, yes, you should definitely be watching for eggs, but not necessarily tomorrow. I look for eggs on a daily basis starting about 3 weeks after a gecko's last clutch.

As for burned out breeders, there isn't a definition in the dictionary, so you have to really take that with a grain of salt. My definition of "burned out" might be different than someone else's. What I would ask is for the date of the female's first clutch ever, when or if she has been given a break, and when was she laid her last clutch. I've not had very good luck buying other people's breeders. You have to wonder why anyone would sell a good looking female that's producing lots of eggs.

I have someone who wants to sell me their breeding pair, I currently have to pairs. His pair has matted before they are 2.5 years old do you think it would be best if I waited till the reptile show and try my luck buying juvies?
