New Male Pastel (Pics!)
Well, I received today a 2002 male Pastel Ball Python from Michael at Hiss & Hers Pythons. I was informed that this male was produced by Markus Jayne Ball Pythons. We are very excited about this little guy! If everything goes as planned we will be breeding this guy with a few of our females and also some of BoidKeeper's females (aka as Trevor heh).
I only took a few pictures as I placed him in his tub and they are not that great. They are difficult to photographs because of the colors. The flash washes out color, but not using the flash is a tad too generous on color. These pictures were not edited for color (just cropped)... The actual color of this male is closer to the pictures for which I did not use a flash. He's actually very nicely colored for his age. Some pastels almost loose all color. This one seems to be keeping a lot of it!
The first picture will have washed out colors, but I just wanted to get a clear pictures of those eyes!
Let me know what you think!
Bristen.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! After a week or two I should be able to get more pictures of him.. good thing we have a digital camera
Bristen.
ps: I think having many pastels in the country next year is a good thing.. pastels have much potential (supers, crossed with other morphs, etc)... and plus, they are what many get into when starting to breed Ball Python morphs, they have become an important part of the "Ball Python Mania" phenomenon Everybody should have at least one

Very impressive with quite a reduced pattern as well. These guys never show up as well in photos as in real life - couldn't believe it the first time I saw one in person - incredible snakes and yours is a really dramatic one. Congrats,
mary v.

new pictures (more color correct)
well, as hard as I'm trying to leave him alone, I couldn't help but to take another few pictures of the little guy. It's very difficult to take pictures of him and have them be "color-correct". These two pictures are close to being the correct color representation, however there's nothing like seeing them "face to face". The first pictures I took without a flash gave him a very "orange color" while he's more yellow than orange. Anyways, here are the pictures:
ps: does any of the pros in here have any tips for taking pictures of pastels? I'm not very good with a camera, but I'm learning... I also just have a Kodak 2MP digital camera, so nothing fancy...
Thanks again Michael, I love this guy!
Bristen.
