Female aggression

I have a male and female at home. They share a large 75 gal tank and get along fine...

When I got my male he was overweight, so I feed my female by herself in their tank (I just take him out for a bit). She gets lots of crickets and when she stops eating like a pig, I put my male in to clean up... After the crickets are gone they get the norm veggies and pellets.

The other day when I put him back in the tank, she ran over to him and puffed out and bit him. He is approx. 5 inches longer than her and much heavier. He didn't really care much, just went on eating.

I didn't think females were agressive toward males

Let me know what you guys think,

Also... feeding them this way was my vets idea,

Females are often aggressive over the males, so I would not be concerned in regards to this being an abnormality. However, with this being said, monitor her behaviour. If dominance persists over the two, they should be separated immediately, as they have the potential to severely injure each other.

As for a possibility as to why this occurred, it is possible to be something as simple as the fact that she saw a dragon in her sight, and became aggressive protecting her territory. I do not particularly condone housing two dragons together permanently, however it is your choice and if you continue to do so, please be sure to monitor their behaviour.
