Hopefully eggs are on the way!!!

Well about 3 months ago i breed my corns and the female has been off food for about that long, i still tried to feed her weekly but she has NO intrest in food at all. I've been slightly worried that she just went off food and the mating didn't go well, until about a week ago when i could see some buldges. Last night she shed and boy was she ever crusing the cage, so in a week i'm hoping to have some eggs.

This girl has always been a very aggressive eater so i can't wait to see her feeding response after she (hopefully) lays eggs.

Best of luck with the egg laying and for lots of little amel (and maybe some snow babies in the future)

Might be worth letting her have a lay box with moss if she doesn't have one yet, even though it will likely be a few days before she lays. I find ours like to check it out and will be more restful once they have identified the place where it is acceptable to lay their eggs. Some of them will lay earlier than you expect too and you don't want them dumped in the water dish.

good luck - always exciting to get the first clutch laid,

mary v.

Thanks Vanderkm

Last year it was all amels and from what i understand with genetics that's all i will get with my current 2. I'm happy if they are all healthy.

I put her nesting box in about 2 weeks ago, just incase. LOL Last year she went right to it so i'm hoping she does the same thing this year, even though she loves sleeping under it. I'm really hoping she doesn't lay them under the nesting box this year.

Thanks again.

Jamie
