22' male burm?
How big can a male burm get? I was talking to a guy that claims he had a 22' male burm,I'm a little sceptical. As far as I know males don't get this big.

Even if it's a female, I doubt it is 22' long.
Measuring big snakes is tough, and everyone, even I, am prone to exagerate lenghts of big snakes.
Help him measure it, let us know.

Yup, snakes do grow after they leave. Friends of ours still talk about Boots, the now 26' long male retic - haha.
He was over 20', but it is fun to hear them talk about it, he keeps growing 1 foot each time.
Let him know if he ever comes across another Burm of eithe sex over 20' long, I'll pay him really good money for it. I've never seen one, would like too.

I've seen many pictures of Baby, that snake has been discussed quite a bit before on the forum.
I've never seen (other than pictures) a burm over 20'.
Is / was (some say Baby is no longer alive) Baby a male or female? I just assumed female I guess - but I'm not sure if I've ever read it's sex.

Baby is a female I believe and very much over wieght..........
But she has been recorded has the largest captive snake in the world I think.
Bob Clark has a Retic that I think will surpass Baby. The Retic's name is Fluffy. I think it maybe 20 foot right now.
The Toledo zoo has a female Burm that measured 18 something last year and a male that was 16 something. Also Think they have a Gravid King Cobra for the second time!!!! I know I know wrong forum lol

I have a 29.5 foot female burm in my basement? What are you guys talking about not believing in big snakes? O and my 32' male retic is breeding with the burm right now. Jeez! Wake up, snakes can be big!
NOT!
LOL, Baby? 26.4' No way. Thats bigger than the average retic. I thought the record for the heavyest snake was like 350lbs and think that burm is probably only 24 feet max.
C.
BTW. I also have a 6 foot kenyan sand boa.

I look it up on http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/index.asp?id=51013. In the search to the left type in Burmese Python. The heaviest living snake is a Burmese Python weighing 182.76 kg (403 lb.) It is 21 years old, 8.23-m (27 ft) long, and has a girth of 71.12 cm (28 in) Known as "Baby", she lives at the Serpent Safari Park in Gurnee, Illinois, USA.

Here's the longest snake recorded http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/index.asp?id=51013 The reticulated python (Python reticulates) of southeast Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines regularly exceeds 6.25 m (20 ft 6 in). The record length is 10 m (32 ft 9.5 in), for a specimen shot in Celebes, Indonesia, in 1912.

I think you'll find Bob Clark's Retic is alot closer to Baby's record than you think. Last I heard she was 26ft., and she's only 14 years old or so.
